Writing Projects

Here are brief descriptions of my current and recent writing projects. These have at least a draft of the complete story, some of which has been read by at least one other person. Some other projects—those that were started when I was still teaching, those that never got very far—are not included here. The projects are listed in reverse chronological order, with the current project at the top.

Webster

Science fiction. Webster has no intergalactic or even interplanetary travel, no alien visitors, and no utopian or dystopian futures. Webster is a tale about time travel, the man and his reason for developing it, and … well, you’ll just have to wait until you can read it for yourself.

Based on feedback about a recent draft, I am mapping out changes and will be restructuring the story in preparation for the next (and hopefully final) rewrite. Stay tuned.

Grace

A novel that combines a first person narrative of Grace re-discovering herself. It combines religious and supernatural elements set in the recent past with historical fiction set in medieval times.

Alas, what was to be the final manuscript has been shelved. I might return to it sometime, as I have some new ideas that might rescue it. Or, since it came about when two unrelated stories were merged, I might split it apart and work on either or both halves as separate projects.
